The SBI Clerk Recruitment 2026 Notification has
announced a total of 9,124 vacancies, out of which 7,680 are regular
posts and 1,444 are backlog vacancies. Backlog vacancies are those
positions that were reserved for specific categories in previous recruitment
cycles but remained unfilled. These are carried forward to ensure that
candidates from reserved categories get their rightful opportunities in line
with government reservation policies.

SBI CLERK 2026 RECRUITMENT QUALIFICATION
- Graduation
in any discipline from a recognized University or equivalent
qualification approved by the Central Government.
- Candidates
with Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) must have passed on or before 31.12.2026.
- Final
year/semester students may apply provisionally but must produce proof
of graduation by 31.12.2026.
- Ex‑Servicemen
with the Indian Army Special Certificate of Education (or
equivalent in Navy/Air Force) after 15 years of service are also
eligible, provided the certificate is dated on or before 31.12.2026.

FAQs – SBI CLERK 2026 RECRUITMENT
A. Yes. Final-year or final-semester students can apply provisionally. However, according to the official notification, you must be able to produce valid proof of having passed the graduation examination on or before 31 December 2026 if called for document verification.
A. No. There is no interview component for the selection process; your final merit list placement depends entirely on your Main Examination performance. Additionally, there is no maximum attempt limit; you can take the exam as many times as you want as long as you meet the 20 to 28 age criteria.
A. Both the Preliminary and Main examinations carry a negative marking penalty of 1/4th (0.25) of the marks assigned to that specific question. There are no negative marks deducted for questions left unattempted.
