IOCL does not consider
candidates who have already undergone Apprenticeship training under the
Apprentices Act elsewhere, or who have one year or more of work experience.
Candidates who passed their qualifying degree/diploma/ITI prior to 2023
may not be eligible. This is strictly for fresh candidates.
The notification will specify the acceptable years of passing (likely 2023,
2024, 2025, and 2026).
Educational Qualification:
- For
ITI (Trade Apprentice): Matriculation (10th) + 2-year full-time
ITI in the relevant trade, recognized by NCVT/SCVT. Candidates must
possess the National Trade Certificate.
- For
Diploma Apprentice: 3-year full-time Diploma in Engineering in
the relevant discipline from a State Board of Technical
Education/recognized university.
- For
Graduate Apprentice: Full-time Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech) in
the relevant engineering discipline from a recognized Indian
university/institute.
Age Limit:
- Minimum:
18 years as of the cut-off date specified in the notification (likely
January 31, 2026, or July 31, 2026).
- Maximum:
24 years for General/EWS category candidates.
- Age
Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy
Layer), and additional 10 years for Persons with Disabilities (PwBD).
Ex-servicemen and certain other categories are eligible for relaxation as
per government rules.
Stipend and Benefits
The IOCL apprenticeship is a training engagement, not a
permanent job. However, the stipend is highly competitive and governed by the
Apprenticeship Act:
- Graduate
Apprentices: Approx. ₹25,000 per month.
- Technician
(Diploma) Apprentices: Approx. ₹17,500 per month.
- Trade
(ITI) Apprentices: Approx. ₹10,000 - ₹14,000 per month (varies by
trade and location).
- Aadhaar
Card (linked to mobile number).
- 10th
Pass Certificate/Mark sheet (for age proof and basic registration).
- All
semester/year mark sheets and Provisional/Final Degree of B.E./B.Tech/Diploma.
- ITI
National Trade Certificate and Mark sheet (for Trade Apprentices).
- Caste
Certificate (SC/ST/OBC-NCL) in the prescribed Central Government format.
- PwBD/EWS
Certificate in the latest format, if applicable.
- NATS/NAPS registration number.
